The Selma bust is a lot better, though that Rebel flag in the center looks tacky and stickered-on. (I'm pursuing a cartoonist career, so I am an amateur art critic.)

Ran across the CDV a while back of John H Symonds of the 6th and 22nd Mass. He's not famous (at least not to my knowledge) but to me he's the epitome of a Viking warrior reincarnated.

I think everyone knows that story. For a story that even many of the tellers admit was probably apocryphal, it certainly was and is a popular one.

His main photo on Wikipedia certainly a contender for most memorable beard of the war. His facial hair was launching it's own three-pronged assault!

Easy, one of the more underrated generals in the war. Gen George Thomas. This man just has a serious 'I'll kick your A - -' look about him.
Also, Sherman and Forrest for sure. It's all in the eyes.

I don't find any of these guys especially scary based on their photos. I might think differently if I had known one or two of them I guess.

Theres a couple that look like they might have been a few beers short of case though.
