Member Review Scariest Looking Officer

THIS GUY was a HS principle?! Holy **** that's terrifying. Not only is he scary as hell but also fought in a war. I bet that high school was the best behaved in the state.

Yeah, could you imagine being some smart mouthed 16 year old and then that guy comes in and gives you THAT look? LOL! Nope! You're gonna straighten up FAST!

The Selma bust is a lot better, though that Rebel flag in the center looks tacky and stickered-on. (I'm pursuing a cartoonist career, so I am an amateur art critic.)

I am surprised that this monument is still standing. I live about 70 miles north of Selma, and can attest that Alabama has more civil rights monuments and more civil rights museums and events than I thought possible until moving here several years ago.

The fact that people tried to save this statue is hilarious. Like this is the one you want to save? Are you sure? lol.
You think I want to save this ? That's hilarious! Are YOU sure? Are YOU for real? You must be as crazy as that statue looks. LOL Nathan's mother is my first cousin 5x removed, all her children are my second cousins.

My 25th grandfather was Henry de Bohun. He was one of the twenty-five medieval barons who were surety for Magna Carta in 1215.
He died while on pilgrimage (Crusade) to the Holy Land .
His uncle was William Dunkeld, King of Scots, William's reign was to last for almost forty-nine years.
That and $12.00 will buy me an overpriced coffee at Starbucks.

Wouldn't know about Starbucks prices but one of my patrons gave me a nice Starbucks coffee mug ☕️. @**** Yankee, this is a distant relative's home now on Rutgers University campus. The oldest home in the neighborhood , it wasn't burned down by the British because he was a British sympathizer!!

Would love to know how you are able to establish your 25th gr grandfather.

Not doubting for a moment- just things go dark for me when I try to go before mid-1700s. Maybe because the search would need to go to Europe.

But that is very cool.

It was originally in the public square, but the mayor of Selma relocated it to a CS cemetery.

I can get several lines back into the 1400s and quite a few back into the 1600s. One thing that helps me is that literally every direct ancestor I've been able to trace back to Europe arrived in America prior to the establishment of the country so I can go many generations right here before having to start digging into European records.

The uncertainty or not, it's pretty cool. One of the issues with Wikitree, I know for certain Caroline is my mother, after all, she's my mother
