I've seen who is the scariest looking officer. But who is the friendliest looking? My vote goes to McPherson. He looks like he heard a good joke.

When @Sivart posted the fun thread about the scariest looking officer, I was hoping someone would start a thread about the friendliest looking.

Yep.

Kind of like Confederate General William Barksdale hearing the Quartermaster's report that five wagon loads of Kentucky Bourbon had been captured earlier in the day.

This painting gives William Barksdale a head full of hair he didn't have in real life but he does look like he knows how to have a good time. During the 1850s when Barksdale was in the House of Representatives, a fist fight that was on the verge of becoming a full scale riot broke out. When someone knocked Barksdale's topuee off of his head, the resulting laughter brought the brawl to an end.

Very true.
I personally know many of his offspring.
All of these Barksdales are brilliant and wild. :bounce:

But I do think General William appears to be a friendly looking fellow.

Not sure.

Ive never properly watched that flick from "start to finish" .
It's way too long for my taste.

Plus the goofy fake beards/fake accents only made me laugh.
I would love to watch a well-done 5-hour movie about any major campaign or battle, with a couple of 5-minute breaks of course.
