Hello All,
I am new here and look forward to the many topics of discussion.
I have what I was told is a Spencer model 1860 rifle. There are very few readable markings. At the top of the receiver, were the Spencer etc stamping normally is only "cer" can be read. At the rear of receiver the number 41004 can be read.
The over length of rifle is 39" with a 20" round barrel.
While I was told this is model 1860, I have also been told it is a model 1865. Any info or insight would be greatly appreciated.
I plan on this being a display item and would like accurate info to put on a brass nameplate.
Thank you and best regards,
Rick
