Hello, with the an acknowledgement that these requests get tiresome, I too am looking for information about a Model 1860 Spencer Carbine I recently purchased. I will be grateful for any information.

The serial number is 46382. The partially worn maker stamp is Spencer Repe(ating) / Rifle Co Boston Ma(ss) / Pat'd Mar(ch 6 1860). The stock just behind the saddle ring has two well-stamped cartouches at a 90 degree angle from each other.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

If you could post photos of your Spencer to include serial # and makers marks we can take a look and see what we can find out about your War Horse. Looking forward to seeing it.

Nice looking Spencer. Its not listed in the SRS, below is the range 46 range of #. Keep in mind that if its not listed its not listed. The cartouches are hard to see.

4625260C 65CO M 2ND NY VOL CAV
4631560C 03 65CO L 2ND NY VOL CAV
4639860C 10 64CO I 19TH NY VOL CAV

John, I really appreciate your help. Getting the serial number within a range is helpful. Perhaps a New York cavalry regiment, perhaps not. Thanks again!
