I just purchased a 1865 Spencer Carbine serial number 3806 and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to research its history.

Nice early Spencer. @JOHN42768 is spot on with the inspectors. Below is the range in the SRS. Its not listed and you should not assume that yours was issued to the same unit. Still a very nice Spencer Thanks for sharing it.

Welcome from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. I would contact the Horse Soldier Shop in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. They are very nice people to deal with and are experts in anything militaria, especially civil war period. David.

I have a M 1865 rifle that i shoot using a home made conversion block. it slugs out at .512 dia. i also have a carbine c/w saddle ring bar no visible model number on it. it slugs out at .526. Any idea where i could find some soft lead bullets for it? Thanks Texas..

Good evening. Can you tell me where this "SRS" information can be found. I have a similar rifle, but with a serial number of 221. Spencer Carbine, M1865, DAP and CHM stamps, 20" barrel, 900 yard sight and no cut off. Any info is good info....Thanks!
