I bought the rifle at rock island auctions. Do you have any experience w them? Should I worry if the rifle is a fake?So the range would fit into Ohio vol, but I should not read anything into that ?
No you should not. RIA is a very reputable auction house. All weapons are NOT listed in the SRS and in looking at the photos its right as rain.I bought the rifle at rock island auctions. Do you have any experience w them? Should I worry if the rifle is a fake?
Its just been in there for a long time. Ive had several Spencer carbines with the same problem. You need to apply a lot of pressure, wiggle back and forth and just go a little at a time. If your not going to shoot it just leave it alone. As far as RIA goes, they are just like any other auction house, if you know what your doing and have the knowledge, you know when to leave it alone. The only problem with it is that loading gate on the butt plate won’t open. I’m thinking I may need to have a gunsmith look at it . Any suggestions?
I did. It was helpful. Looks more likely the Ohio ssI hope you will take my advice and read that Wiley Sword article about the first couple batches of Spencer Rifles that were ordered for issuance to the Michigan Cavalry and the Ohio Sharpshooters.
