There has been question about meatloaf. It been around in America since Colonial times. It been made in different ways by different cultures.

One of earliest written recipes is from the Boston Cooking School Cookbook back in late 1800s.

2 cups bread crumbs, freshly made
1 medium onion, finely cut
2 large eggs, beaten
2lbs ground beef
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon dried mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper, freshly ground
3/4 cups milk

Preheat oven 350 degrees. Butter a loaf pan. Combine all ingredients in bowl. Pat into pan. Bake 45 minutes After meatloaf almost done cover with Ketchup.
