Where did you get the photo?

I'm guessing that he missed participation in the 1st Battle of Manassas because the 11th Georgia missed the battle due to an accident on the road with 2 other regiments, a collision of sorts. The source states " 3 regiments cars". So I'm assuming it meant the railroad. This is just a guess, mind you, and I'm hoping others can supply some details.

Wow! He was 41 when the Civil War started in 1861. It said that he was an attorney before and after the war. Is there any that listed as to where he was educated?
He was educated at the Richmond Pearson law school in Surry County North Carolina and his friend Richard E. Reeves of Siloam as well. It was at Major Reeves home that Yankees tried to take Lt Luffman's horse and tried to burn Major Reeves mother's home . A small skirmish happened at Siloam . Lt Luffman and he were classmates at the Richmond Pearson law school
