1864 Burnside .54 Cal

I was handed down a Burnside .54 caliber rifle serial number 15048. There are very faint initials engraved on the stock that read: First H for sure. Second D for sure. And Third what I believe to be a K. They are engraved in old English scroll font. If anyone can tell me anything about the serial number or the initials i would really appreciate it. Thanks again. If you could post some photos to include the engraving, makers marks and serial # we would love to see them and it would help us tell you more about your Burnside.

I agree with ucvrelics. Photos are true ways to ask and receive info.
I just purchased a 5th model Burnside carbine which I have yet to receive. Can't wait to do the show and tell with photos.
Expecting positive and negative. But that is what this is all about. Photo's are worth many words of ???
Welcome from AZ. Proud owner of a 1862 Navy S&H that is a shooter. Excited to have a 2nd ACW era gun in my collection.
Hopefully it will be a shooter as well.
