Just acquired an 1860 Spencer carbine. Looking for information, if possible, on the serial number 53063. Also any info on the difference in a 1860 and 1865 cartridge tube. Anyone know where I can get a 1860 tube?

Photos would be very helpful to include all makers marks. Is it a 1860 or 65. The 1865 cartridge tube had ridges which made it easier to open. There were several versions of the CW Spencer and so that were modified after the war. Does your have the Stabler cutoff? I will check the SRS and see if it is there.

Below is the SRS listing range and yours is not listed. What is interesting is there are no 530XX listed at all. A note all the SRS Spencers are classified as 60C. Would still love to see photos.

Thank you all, Looks like it has a "65" model tube, also noticed very tight to move tube out. hard to read markings very worn

Its an model 1860 as the serial # range on the 65's was 1 - 34000. Could you post a photo of the loader lever in the down position?
