Hi!

My first post. Thanks for letting me in on this forum! Have always been interested in the Civil war history despite living far away in Sweden. However, a lot of swedes (emigrants) fought in that war.

Have recently bought three revolvers from the 1860:s. Can anyone tell me more about when they where manufactured? Perhaps used where, if possible. Any other "fun" info...?

1. Starr double action revolver, .44 cal. Number 7348 and an "L". There is 3 nothes on the grip :-/

2. Roger & Spencer, .44 cal. Number 908.

3. Colt 1860 Army, .44. Number 107782. Have found on Coltś homepage that is was made in 1863.

Regards / Magnus Lindstrom

Welcome to the forums from the host of the Stonewall Jackson Forum and another firearms enthusiast and sometime collector! The only comment I have is that the Colt was the most-produced military handgun of the war and certainly has a good chance of wartime use. Since it's cut for the seldom-used shoulder stock it was almost definitely produced under government contract for Federal ownership and use.

Welcome! That's a nice collection: thanks for sharing the photos! I look forward to your perspective in our discussions! Enjoy!
