Taking requests on colorization

You mean http://i.imgur.com/gOgKB.jpg? I wouldn't know what to do with the stones. I think it'd look far too gray. The only color I can see is the springfield (if it is a springfield), his face, and the very brown dirt in front of him, the rest would be a grayish brown tint (maybe clothes).

Wow clear version of that image, does it seem like something was done to the photographic plate? Along the outline where the rock eets the sky, an early version of photo editing perhaps...

Nope, and oh my lord I am seeing so many opportunities on this webpage. I can't seem to find the picture of Grant together with M.R. Patrick in a higher resolution, which was the main reason for me going on to the loc website.

But, main point is I can't save it due to Quicktime. It seems to be the only way I can view them, and it won't let me download unless I buy.

You just need to right-click on the TIFF link and click save as or save taget as and then just open it directly in photoshop. You could also dissociate quicktime viewer and .tiff files, but the first option would be easier for you.

I figured it out thanks to a friend who had the same issue a couple of weeks ago. Your method was the exact one, thanks a lot man. I've got a TON of new images that I'll be coloring, and in ridiculous high-def, lol.

Recognize anyone? The hint is in the fact that the second fella lying down, and the first guy standing on the right are both in my previous image where a guy smokes a long (long) pipe of hemp (It would appear.).

Description said Engineers of Company D, as is also enforced on their 'D' markings on their hats. The 'C' on the third seated fellow wouldn't happen to stand for Cavalry?
