Taking requests on colorization

You mean http://i.imgur.com/gOgKB.jpg? I wouldn't know what to do with the stones. I think it'd look far too gray. The only color I can see is the springfield (if it is a springfield), his face, and the very brown dirt in front of him, the rest would be a grayish brown tint (maybe clothes).

Yeah that's the picture. It was just a thought, I realize what you are saying though.
I could do it as my next image, if that's what you'd like. I had started it a week or two ago and I just looked at it after giving him some skin color and thought 'Well... The hell do I do now?'.

Zuzah, I would like to see the picture of the sharpshooter at Devil's Den in color, could you do that?

I know this, but how many of you do, that the photo was staged. My tour guide back in 2004 told me that, and I remember it today! The photo was stage, the man had actually died away from the perch there in the picture and they moved him there.

That traditional story is that it was staged, but there are some arguments against it. You can read a lengthy, although very interesting, article on it here

I am pretty sure I saw a colorization of it a few days ago, but I can't find it at the moment as Google Images is giving me trouble. If I find it I will post it.

I think Wilber actually colored it (maybe?). I'm not sure though, could be someone else did it, I actually started coloring for my own personal collection (I have a history folder and I downloaded so much from a woman who did some shabby (allbeit decent) coloring, where gold is yellow, and union uniforms are a faded black, and the colors were overall off. So from henceforth I decided I would do it better than her, and it turned into this, helping other people.

It could have been, I think it may have been a professional in a magazine or something of that nature. But I would love to see your version, if you make one.

Haha, yeah. I saw a magazine coloring of 'Gray Ghost' Mosby earlier in another thread by Wilber/ur, and it looked identical to mine. I thought it was mine but I later realised I made that coloring half a year ago, in 2012, so I doubt it was mine.

I'll get it done tomorrow or the day after that, I also have to make a video for a job, so it might get pushed.

Funny I had never done Longstreet before.

Very nice....
Thanks man - although I think the house color is a bit off, don't you think?

Quick edit - how in the world do I acquire the .tiff files on the loc.gov website? It informs me I need to buy Quicktime 7 but I'm sure there's another program to download these files.

No the wood looks like its cut wood that has started to turn grey, which it would have... You can't save downloads as tiffs?
Nope, and oh my lord I am seeing so many opportunities on this webpage. I can't seem to find the picture of Grant together with M.R. Patrick in a higher resolution, which was the main reason for me going on to the loc website.

But, main point is I can't save it due to Quicktime. It seems to be the only way I can view them, and it won't let me download unless I buy.
