Hi, I have the chance to buy this model 1860 spencer rifle

Serial number is 9103

Would anyone have any information on this rifle

What year was it made?

What unit did it serve under?

Where did it serve?

Its not listed in the SRS and was made in late 1863. Below is the SRS range and it is not listed so what unit is lost to time.

I count 89 Spencers listed on the Springfield Research Service for the 10th Michigan Cavalry. The earliest serial is 3807, and the highest serial is 17,102, so these 89 Spencers are spread over 10,395 serial numbers. That is not any sort of "range"

The SRS databank was taken off line partly because sellers would use it to claim imaginary "ranges" and the owner of the SRS didn't want the data so easily misused !!!

Looking at the condition, I think that might be a tad high. It's in the right ball park but I've seen them in better condition for around $2900.
