Spencer carbine

I inherited a Spencer carbine, serial #12360. Does anyone know any history about it or approximate value? Action works

Could you post a photo or post what the marking is on top of the receiver as there are 2 different models and have the same serial #. Its hard to see the photos you posted just what model it is.

Welcome, enjoy. The barrel on the Model 1860 will be 22" and on the Model 1865 will be 20"
