Very Nice model 1860. I see a Stabler cutoff so I believe its one of 10000 that were converted in late 64 early 65. It should have a 3 groove rifled barrel. Also, is the hammer beveled? It is not listed in the SRS.

It sure is and has the three grooved rifling, think I have about 15 carbines now, my sharps I've traced to the unit and owner as it has his initials engraved on the stock, thanks for your help

Hi it's the army model but I also have the navy one aswell, thanks I mostly collect cavalry weapons, anything associated too the 8th Illinois cavalry, few relics and cdvs and tintypes mostly cavalry, got loads with pistols but looking for ones with carbines now
