Spencer carbine

If you could post some photos of the entire Spencers to include serial# and makers marks we can take a look and see what we can find on them. Looking forward to seeing them.

Very Nice model 1860. I see a Stabler cutoff so I believe its one of 10000 that were converted in late 64 early 65. It should have a 3 groove rifled barrel. Also, is the hammer beveled? It is not listed in the SRS.

It sure is and has the three grooved rifling, think I have about 15 carbines now, my sharps I've traced to the unit and owner as it has his initials engraved on the stock, thanks for your help

Nice looking collection and I see a Sharps & Hankins. Is it a cav model or Navy model?

Hi it's the army model but I also have the navy one aswell, thanks I mostly collect cavalry weapons, anything associated too the 8th Illinois cavalry, few relics and cdvs and tintypes mostly cavalry, got loads with pistols but looking for ones with carbines now

Your Sharps & Hankins appears to be a Navy model missing the leather barrel cover. Looks to have the navy front sight, not the army style front sight.
