1880: Captured by Texas Ranger Joe McKidrict in Texas
Fled from Prison and lived in Chihuahua Mexico until 1888
1888: His name was cleared and all charges were dropped
1893 – 1894: Constable in El Paso Texas
1894: Killed former Texas Ranger Bass Outlaw
1895: Killed John Wesley Hardin at the Acme Saloon


Died: April 6, 1896
Place of Death: El Paso Texas
Cause of Death: Killed by U.S. Marshal George Scarborough
Age at time of Death: 56 years old
Burial Place: Concordia Cemetery El Paso Texas

What a great post! Thank you. My Granddad had the old Time-Life book series (monthly subscription - leather bound) The West, and I remember the quote "John Wesley Hardin was so mean he once shot a man for snoring."
