Good morning everyone, I was wondering how historically accurate would it be for me to wear a hardee hat with a flat brim as a company grade officer ?

I would check photographs of the specific unit to determine the type of headgear that the officers hade.

The officer's Hardee hat should be worn with full epaulets (not shoulder straps), just as the enlisted Infantry Hardee hat should be worn with shoulder scales. Officer's shoulder straps were part of the undress uniform, as was the cap.
