I was listening to a presentation and it got me wondering about something. This may be too broad of a question but what would you see was the least reliable brigade of the conflict?

I'd have to look more into this, but it's a safe assumption that a brigade that performed poorly in multiple battles under multiple commanders would be broken up pretty quickly.

If you listened to some of the Union combatants, there was no love for the German units from PA. Especially after Fredericksburg. But I think much of the Germans problem's stemmed from their lack of knowledge of the English language, especially when lead by only English speaking commanders.

That would definitely impede progress.
