Hello,
Thank you for accepting me to your forum. I am a new cannon owner having little knowledge what I've gotten myself into to.

I sought y'all out for guidance and education so I'll drive right in to the abyss.

What did I buy? That may make me sound the fool but in my defense I bought it for a conversation piece to my lakeside of my property. Only after trying to find wheel repair leads on the internet did I realize I needed to know what I actually have.

So I submit myself to this forums body of knowledge. What did I buy?

Here are some initial details and pictures.

Barrel is about 43 inches.
Bore is 2 1/8th inch with a inner liner.
Barrel doesn't appear to be riffled.
It is definitely cast iron.
The wagon seems a perfect match and fit although in decay.

Looking forward to your insights good or bad.

Welcome, enjoy. Lot of members at the Franklin show this weekend, so replies might take a couple of days.
RedBob and I just got to the hotel here in Franklin after a long day setting up for the CW show and have already ran into a few CWT members.
Here are some initial details and pictures.

As one that builds and restore cannons you have a project ahead of you. If you could post some better photos it would be helpful in determine just what you will need to do to get it in shape. BTW its a carriage not a wagon. If it does indeed have a sleeve then it can be fired but that is a long ways off and would have to have the barrel bore scoped and inspected before it can fire.

It is a little hard to tell from just those photos. Some close up ones would help, plus one where you are standing next to it in order to get a perspective on size. My initial thoughts are that it is a smaller than full size reproduction ( nothing necessarily wrong with that)
