I have been listening to the audiobook versions of the Jack Hurst books Born to Battle: Grant and Forrest and Nathan Bedford Forrest: A Biography. In both, the author repeatedly refers to "the authorized biography of Nathan Bedford Forrest."
I am guessing the printed books contain footnotes to this book (which I don't get with the audiobooks).
I quick internet search and I found Life of General Nathan Bedford Forrest (1908 [c1899) by John A. Wteth. Can anyone tell me if the is the "authorized biography" that Mr. Hurst is referring too (and if not, what is)?
Thanks
