This recipe is especially for Diane and Nate. It is originally from "Recipes of the Early 1800's", Nathan Bedford Forrest Chapter of the Daughters of the Confederacy, Woodville, Mississippi, 1985, page 13.

Molasses Raisin Pie

1/2 cup sugar
1 cup water
4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 1/2 cups seedless raisins
1/2 cup molasses
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon lemon juice

Cook the filing until it is thick. Cool. Pour it into an unbaked pie shell and bake 10 minutes at 450 degrees. Then reduce heat to 350 degrees for 30 minutes more. Serve plain or with whipped cream

This in book, "Sweet 'n' Slow" by Patricia B. Mitchell., page 21.
