Severely wounded at Fredricksburg he was unable to return to active field duty and given light duty jobs like recruiting in Ohio, California, and Nevada.
I've read several differant biographys and only 1 mentions his wounding at Fredricksburg and that was with no details. Others seem to blame his poor health in early 1863 on bouts with yellow fever. Was he wounded at Fredricksburg?
