Any particular reason you're trolling me? I wasn't trolling him but pointing out a fact. This is not the place for a discussion argument about the meaning of CSA celebration, which you are obsessed with. Who cares? I wouldn't be mad for Benedict Arnold Day. Not my business. This doesn't affect our country in any way. Furthermore, this was not a thread for "discussing"; it was an announcement (see comment #37).

Geez. I hate to see this forum end up just about throwing stones. The OP didn't express a statement of fact but, rather, simply invited folks to a gathering. If one doesn't approve of such gatherings that's one's business but I don't see why challenging the gathering is necessary. Why can't we just let others do as they wish in whatever way has meaning to them (assuming they aren't imposing on others) ? Seems these days everything is subject to public attack.

If you don't agree that Lee or Jackson should be honored then don't but why go out of your way to attack those who feel otherwise ? They aren't imposing on you. If you don't share their views fine but attacks here seem like just going out of one's way to attack others. We can all do without that methinks.

@Viper21 if it's ok to add, I'd like to mention, I gave a couple of quilts for the event. One was made by another lady in our Chapter and one by me. If I can brag a bit I must say they are beautiful! I'm quite proud of them both!
I worked on mine all through the summer and I had lots of help from the wonderful ladies I sew with. When I told my quilty friends what I was doing, many of the ladies passed along their Civil War reproduction fabrics for me to use.
I hope the weather is nice for the event and that all who can make it have a great time!

We're waiting until a bit closer to see how the weather is looking that weekend, but I'm hoping to make it this year. I've been twice and I always enjoy the event. There's nothing like holding a Lee-Jackson Day service at Jackson's gravesite. It's a special place to remember these men.

For those that are unaware, Ashley made a quilt that we auctioned off at Lee Jackson Day last year. It raised nearly $500 for Lee Jackson Memorial Park.

After recently receiving her newest quilt, & the other ladies' quilt, I'm confident that they will raise lots of money for Lee Jackson Memorial Park this year..! I'm definitely going to bid on the one Ashley made..! It is amazing..!!

Lee was a humble, honorable man. He gave much to Virginia, before, during, & after the war. Any serious student of Lee knows his character as such. Few men are as worthy of honor as Lee.

As one of the organizers of this annual event, & one of the founders of Lee Jackson Memorial Park, I can't tell you how proud I am to be descended from men in his command, & to play a part in honoring, & remembering him today.

I'll be there come rain or shine! Looking very much forward to seeing my first ever Lee-Jackson day event. I'm booked in for the Friday morning Jackson House tour and the Saturday Gala too so I'm very excited for those. I can't tell you how much I wish the Gala music line-up was public though
