Interesting 8th. Regiment flag at auction

I came across the regimental flag at auction on eBay. The seller is 'big time" and highly reputable. I myself have purchased items from him.

This flag sold for $12,100 with 45 bids. I'm surprised that there were no comments about it.

An interesting flag from the description. I wonder if it is the flag carried during the war. It does seem to be in really good shape. No battle damage.
