I have an Enfield P53 with a bad nipple hole. Does anyone know what size tap I need to but an original nipple back in this old girl? Some genius Tapped the hole out to fit a grease fitting for a nipple . I'm going to cut the grease fitting off with a saw and tap the hole in the grease fitting back to the original size of the nipple. I have two replacement nipples and I know they will be a metric size just don't know what that is. Thanks for any help

5/16 x 18 tread pitch is the British size of the original. You can get a 5/16 x 20 nipple if need be.

Thank you very much. I figured i would be hearing from you. I'm surprised it's not Metric .
The Brits had their own system and besides it was invented by the French.

Great Job.
