Graduated from Texas A&M, and after 12 years in USAF as aircraft maintenance officer, worked at Lockheed Martin Fort Worth until retiring after 30 years in Sept 2019. Family history says great great grandfather Sessums, was with Texas unit and wounded at Pleasant Hill, La during Red River campaign but died month or two later back home in Texas. So far we cant find any records to show what outfit he was in (enlisted in Dallas). Grandmother (maiden name Ponder, yes of the Ponder family whose house is prominent in CW photos of Atlanta siege lines) was from Atlanta. My middle name is Ponder hence the PJ) and her grandfather was George Sims (ie Windemere Plantation in Palemtto, Ga) Enjoy reading about Civil War, WWII and aviation, like to build model airplanes (static) and tour CW sites. Recently became member of Hood's Texas brigade Reactivated, as an associate member since none of my relatives were actually in the brigade that we know of.
