Do you like Candy Corn?

Have you ever tried the toffee Poppycock.it is so good.
I have not, which is probably a good thing for me in the long run. I tend to stick to straight up chocolate, and even with that, I'm trying to cut back.

Why can't I get hooked on broccoli the way I get hooked on sugar?

Cute, did your fires get any better,we finally got power back after that hurricane, what a mess.but everyone survived and is healthy,so that's is what's important.

The fires are still going but we can get back to the ranch now. I'm waiting on the boys - they have a time off this weekend and are headed up there. I'm glad you weathered Irma - seems she lost a good deal of her blow coming in, thankfully, but what a storm.

Hey, @diane . Hope you find everything in good shape when you get back to the ranch.

Toffee popcorn would be better actually. Candy corn is really just full of sugar and wrong. There's no corn involved unless you count corn syrup.
Nitrofd was very kind, he sent my kids a whole box of American candy, they loved it, they really liked coconut patties, I'm thinking that I will get them some candy corn, I'm pretty sure that Brit candy/sweets have far more sugar than American candy. I will let you know if they like candy corn. expect a full report.

I guess its like all things, these were things that they hadn't seen or tasted before, the Moon Pies were very popular, also that candy, I can't remember the name of it, you put it in the fridge and then you break it, they loved that.

 I promise I won't give it up completely. Chocolate will always be the perfect lure for me.

And puppies. Kittens. Cute things that will let me hold and pet them.

If you can't find candy corn there, I will be happy to follow sweet Nitro's lead and send you some. Though I'd feel guilty if the kids really loved it, and I got them hooked on American cr*p. :D

I was watching a vlog on YouTube yesterday by a French woman who was talking a bit about their culture. She mentioned sugar and how they really didn't grow up with a lot of it. And now, as an adult, she finds most treats too sweet for her.

It got me to thinking about all the sugar that's likely hidden in our classic American diet. I remember our breakfast cereals and soft drinks when I was young. I wonder how much sugar I ingested back then without even realizing it.
