Do you like Candy Corn?

Love candy corn and am grateful its only around once a year! Oddly enough I hated the stuff as a kid, some how its grown on me. I love using it on Halloween desserts. Also makes great turkey designs on cupcakes and other such yummies post-Halloween

I never liked candy corn and haven't eaten any in fifty five years.

I've never really been a big candy eater and these days the only candy I eat is the Trader Joe's equivalent of peanut butter cups (although I'd eat a good bourbon ball if such were available here).

I love it but am not supposed to eat it.sunday we went to walmart for 50% off on Halloween candy and got 2 3lb.bags of braces autumn mix which is candy corn and those pumpkins for $2.84.what a deal but my sugar will pay the price.

Yes, in moderation. It's something I like about once a year, then I get sick of how sweet it is. My husband likes it all the time and gets annoyed that it's only available at Halloween.

My husband also eats circus peanuts, which to me are the most vile candy on earth.
I have seen it in red, white and green for Christmas, and in pastel colours for Easter.

Different versions of candy corn are manufactured for other holidays, not just Halloween.Manufacturers now produce "Indian corn" for Thanksgiving, "Reindeer Corn" for Christmas, "Cupid Corn" for Valentines Day, "Bunny Corn" for Easter, and "Freedom Corn" for July 4, according to CNN. -

I thought I would start thread on us saying whether we like Candy Corn. I know Halloween has passed but this type of candy seems to be liked or disliked. After a week I will tally the replies and see how this forum stands on Candy Corn.

I like candy corn, so yes vote for me.
It is the most loathsome candy ever invented, the only candy I refused to eat as a child. I decided to try it once on Halloween and embarrassed myself by throwing it up over a neighbor's porch rail. I wasn't crazy about those black and orange wrapped peanut kisses that were like little pieces of brick either, but candy corn is in a category all by itself.

I like Allie's answer: "Yes, in moderation".

Fortunately, my tastes are wired up in such a way that sweets have no power over me. I can take 'em or leave 'em. My wife and I almost never have desserts unless it is a special occasion.

Now....chocolate is an entirely different matter. For me, that one of the essential food groups. But that's a subject for another thread entirely. And when I eat chocolate, I prefer the dark stuff.

I still like Allie's answer. I also like the once-a-year occasional pumpkin in the mix with the candy corn.

Oh, I have a story about this. My husband was delighted to find candy corn for sale at Christmas - it was colored like the "Reindeer corn" above. To his dismay, Christmas corn is... peppermint flavored! And he hates peppermint! Oh no!

I had to rescue him from the evil peppermint corn by eating all of it.

Nope.

But darned if. I don't forget every year and grab an handful anyway. I am old enough that my taste buds are pretty set in their ways, so I guess I just enjoy making myself miserable once a year?
