Ted didn't have to do any of this, so I am grateful to him for doing so even if it is only $1.00. Thank you for your support--I appreciate it very much.

Another friend did set up a GoFundMe for us. The generosity of folks there has also been humbling.

The important thing is to keep this going for Eric. I'm not going into details but I've been in the same medical expense spot they are facing and we are still climbing out 13-years-later. It can happen to any one of us.

I'd encourage everyone to forego that cup of coffee and donate once a week to the GoFundMe account for Eric. Every little penny helps - you have no idea how much it helps. This is the marathon, not the sprint. Let's be the encouragers holding that cup of cold water on the way for Eric and Susan.

It is great for SB to do that, because boutique book publishing and its margins is not the best way to hit the lottery. That doesn't diminish the importance of also going to the GoFundMe - as a number of us have done.

Per the go fund me update Eric's wife was having her surgery yesterday. Hope that went well.

The surgeon told her that she did a really good job of screwing up her shoulder, but that he believes he made a good repair. She will be in an immobilizer for at least 8 weeks and perhaps 12; it's presently too soon to know. She's got a lot of pain today.

The problem is that it's her right--dominant--hand in the immobilizer.

Susan's sister is here to help until tomorrow--she is a surgical physician's assistant and needs to get back to work. Her other sister is flying in from California as I write this. She'll be here until the 18th. Then we'll be pretty much on our own. This is going to be a challenge.
