For many the best corn pudding is made at the Beaumont Inn in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. This Inn has been around since early 1900s. The building actually was built before Civil War and has a long history.

Recipe for Beaumont Inn Corn Pudding:

2 cups white whole corn
4 eggs
8 level tablespoons of flour
1 quart of milk
4 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon salt.

If you are ever in Harrodsburg, Kentucky you must go to the Beaumont Inn. It is just miles away from Perryville and Pleasant Hill, Shaker community.

They have beautiful accommodations and the best food. It is southern hospitality at its best.

The Inn has a long history from early 1800s , thru the Civil War and until the present.

James thanks for thread on your visit to the Beaumont Inn.

The Cake is "General Robert E.Lee's Orange-Lemon Cake. Follow the link below,

I had this when I was there and it's really good!

There was one problem with the visit though: the service in the main dining room was sloppy to say the least. I was traveling with my old friend Mike ( @mkyzzzrdet ) and we made the required reservations for dinner at 6 pm, but when we made our appearance they had NO idea of it, whereupon we had to stand and wait while the hostess went to confirm it. There should have been NO reason for this because there was plenty of seating and I don't think anyone arrived after us anyway; the real problem was likely that they were short-handed in the kitchen, but our travails were just beginning after we were seated.

Our nice but as it turned out ditzy waitress took our orders - or so we thought! She fairly soon brought Mike's soup, and shortly afterward my (delicious!) ham dinner. He finished his soup in short order while I took my time. At long last she reappeared and asked if we wanted anything else, so we asked WHERE WAS MIKE'S DINNER HE'D ORDERED? She was stunned and replied, I thought you only wanted the soup? He had plainly ordered the night's dinner special, which she scurried away for, only to soon return with news that now they were out of it! He agreed to the same ham I'd had a half hour earlier, and while I waited for his dinner to arrive is when I decided to try the Robert E. Lee cake, so everything worked out fine for me!

Beaumont Inn is operated as a bed-and-breakfast and the two breakfasts we had while we were there were also served in the main dining room, thankfully with no problems whatsoever.

Since it is Corn Festival Day for Indians of Guatemala, thought celebrate by bumping my favorite corn pudding recipe.

Corn is one of the staples of many peoples. There are so many ways to fix corn and so many recipes that have been posted on the Food Forum. Let's celebrate by having a corn dish today.

Can't believe I'm just discovering this great thread @donna and James N.! I first tried corn pudding at an Amish restaurant in PA. It was delicious and I have loved it ever since. We discovered one local restaurant that serves it near our house and we take advantage of it every time we're in that neighborhood. Now I need to talk @Southern Unionist into visiting the Beaumont Inn!

White corn? Never heard of such a thing! Could you use yellow corn?

I have several recipes for corn pudding. You can use yellow corn.

Also if any one visits this area, there is so much to see. There is Fort Harrod in Harrodsburg, Shaker town at Pleasant Hill, and Perryville where Battle of Perryville took place is near by. These are just a few of interesting places in this area of Ky. Also if you like antiques, many shops.
