Do any of you know where the serial number is stamped on a Ball repeating carbine? I have looked mine over from top to bottom and can't find one.it has all kind of letters on it from where it was inspected but no serial number. Only thing I have not done is take the stock off to see if it's under there. But I hate to have to do that. Thanks for your input.

There were 1002 produced and they were not serial number marked. Government ordered June 1864. Delivery range from March 1865 thru May 14, 1865. Inspector initials on mine is GGS for George G. Saunders. .50 RF used Spencer .56-50 cartridges. Mine below and tool

I love the look of the Ball repeater. Mine was missing some parts when I bought it but thanks to some members of this forum I was able to complete my carbine. Mine looks like it was used some where. Notice how the script on the wrist has been worn off. Also I do not know what the C 11 was about.

Serial numbers on firearms were not required until 1968. I have
a Winchester Model 67 from the late '30s with no serial number.
