This recipe for Applesauce Cake is from member of my Granny's church, South Elkhorn Christian Church. I have posted other recipes from members. This was a recipe handed down in her family. My Granny made many an applesauce cake. They are delicious and good for you.

Applesauce Cake

1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
3 cups applesauce
2 teaspoons soda dissolved in applesauce
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon allspice
2 cups raisins
1 cup pecans

Cream butter and sugar together. Beat in eggs. Combine the dry ingredients and add to the creamed mixture with applesauce. Stir in raisins and pecans. Pour into greased tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for an hour or until done.
