Rector Tract Park in Remington, VA (Battle of Rappahannock Station) - Sunday, Oct. 12

Picture of the railway that cuts across the Rappahannock River (see below pictures).

The two above pictures were taken from the location of the redoubt of the Confederate fort along the Rappahannock River, outlined in the map below.

Not pictured, because three-dimensional elevation shows poorly in two-dimensional photos: the western (Confederate) side of Saunders Field is surprisingly higher than the eastern side, bisected by a small creek (a crik, as some of y'all would say). No wonder Warren's men couldn't successfully attack Ewell!

Confederate Parrott rifles along the Old Culpepper Road (fence line on the left) at Cedar Mountain battlefield.

Small cemetery at Cedar Mountain battlefield. Includes Major John Throckmorton & family (left). Curiously, the Major survived the war. Maybe he was postwar owner of this property? Pvt. Stephen Simmons (right) was a battle casualty in the 45th GA.

@Drew you were definitely missed. You were at least half the reason Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville were chosen. Remember our conversation at the Dalton show? I thought for sure you'd be here!

As I continue my post-Muster adventure the highlight of today was not revisiting Gettysburg for the morning (I should have allotted a whole day, especially so I could see the Beyond The Battle museum) but the Hessian Barracks at the Maryland School for the Deaf in Frederick, which has a remarkable history.
