CWT Fall Muster 2025?

A group of us realized during the 2023 muster that the 2025 CWT Muster would be the 10th anniversary of the CWT Musters, and we decided then that we wanted to make sure it was a worthy of being the big "one-oh." Our plan all along was to propose a Fredericksburg - Chancellorsville Muster to the membership for 2025. Unfortunately, our team members have all had a lot of other things going on over the past year and ½, and time will get away from you when you aren't looking. Our team is aware that others have now suggested similar (and different) muster ideas, but our team is set, our planning is underway, and we are ready to roll.

Great to hear!

Shenandoah/Winchester 2023 was the first and only Muster I've attended so far, but Diane, Laura, and team did an excellent job.

I'll be quite honest: I've wanted to attend some of the other Musters over the years. Sometimes the main issue was work scheduling, but sometimes I've also been hesitant because some years the event gave me a little too much of a "good ol' boys" vibe. I was much relieved to find no such issue at Winchester.

For a fast glance overview. If I could make it (anything could happen between now & Fall), I'd prefer it be at least firing distance from the war, one way or another, as I've never been anywhere war-related, but for a Harper's Ferry school field trip.
I want to feel the war & these soldiers coursing through my blood after these years studying the thing. But I'd also be the party pooper, as I don't gamble, drink much at all, & eat just plants. Happy to bail anyone out though, at 4am.
I would kill to stand in The Wilderness.

Bah! Pinal County, AZ isn't highlighted as a Pacific Coast battle site, Picacho Peak is there! And of course Cochise County, AZ is covered and can't be highlighted as 3 Pacific Coast battle sites are there too, Apache Pass, Fort Bowie and Dragoon Springs.

Why not both?
I have no doubt both would happen...whether planed or not.:bounce:

While you and I would enjoy a good party at a muster, not everyone is attracted to such.

It's all about marketing.
These events should appeal to a wide range of CWT members that would be willing to travel to a muster.

Yeah I think about that & wonder if I'd be about as welcome as a dead slug, little miss leftist here, leftist but not insane with it, I should add. But I'm paranoid in general, & there's lots of good folks here with just the war in common, so that would be adequate, I'd think. I'd hang out with the ladies anyway & pray they hadn't pushed into a live cannon by day 3.

I would hope everyone could put aside their differences, and be able to enjoy a shared experience, a shared interest and to share one's knowledge. Isn't that what these musters are all about? Plus appreciate the hard work of those folks who have volunteered to organize the event.
Yes, as a past muster leader, and I had to do it during Covid times, everyone did put aside their differences and were good citizens.

For example, when I was the Quartermaster for Antietam, the county we were staying in was a mandatory mask at the hotel. The events manager, stressed that to me. I stressed that to everyone. I had just a little preliminary pushback and I just flat out told everyone attending that I expected them to behave like good citizens with polite behavior and they could put aside their differences for the weekend or not come. It was as simple as that. And they did behave. I had a box of extra masks for anyone who forgot and plenty of hand sanitizer, which we all have normalized in our daily use now.

Whomever the Quartermasters are and the staff, expect top-notch civil behavior from all participants. And in fact, it's usually written somewhere in the contract of the hotel for a group. It's a legal liability a QM takes on.

No need for any thoughts like that.

One's political views, regional accents, ect. would NOT EVEN be an issue.

And "good ole' boys" are some of the nicest folks one could ever meet.
True, it may take a few minutes to get used to them, but "in the end" they charm everyone.

On the other hand, Southern ladies are often the most vicious.
(Just joking)

:D

I kinda don't want to have the thought of pulling @Rusk County Avengers out of the Louisiana Redan again. :bounce:
For the record, that was not the Louisiana Redan. A simple fortress.

I climbed Thayer's Approach.

Huge hill with a what, 75 degree slope? In damp weather, overgrown weeds taller than me, and dodging sinkholes.

I challenge anyone thinking it a simple task to attempt it.

We Northern Belles are the ones stopping to help change someone's tire. We're the ones with that tire iron in our manicured hands. Just sayin'. 🛞🧲💅. Carry on

I still didn't have my work boots (with good traction) to drag your buttinski out during the rain.
