2025 CWT Muster Side Trips

Did anyone happen to grab photos including the rail line/junction @ Gordonsville? Love all the photos and glad everyone is having a great time!
Why, yes I did! It's a panorama pic from the junction to the hotel. Photo was taken as a panorama, and I had to take a screenshot of it - so it's a bit distorted. You can blow it up and see the junction to the left of the hotel.

Thank you! Considering how often the lines were targeted, it's neat to see. Lovely spot.

One of the cannon up on Marye's Heights representing one of the batteries of the Washington Artillery next to the National Cemetery.

The markings on the mouth of the cannon are illegible but here's what is stamped on the trunnion.

Great photos. Brings back some good memories.

We, too, saw polo at the King winery and it was a fun afternoon. Of course I have to say Oregon wine is better :whistling:but the service was good and the people very nice. We'd never seen live polo. Definitely some very nice horses.

I also visited the mule shoe at Spotsylvania (we were the only people on the morning we visited). My avatar guy (great grandpa John Winn) was there with the 3rd Co. Richmond Howitzers. It was a bit spooky (as was being at their position at Cold Harbor).

Have fun, y'all.

I have 3 distant relatives buried there. I do want to see this.

Gee, I remember this trip being proposed something like six months ago. Haven't seen another thread on it until now. Certainly wasn't included in any PM's about it, but it is what it is.

@Desert Kid, if you want to fly up here I'll take you to Fredericksburg and show you myself. Cheers to you.
