@mofederal thank you! Gosh, I know summer arrives 3 months early in the desert, so I'm already feeling the warm weather out here in Las Vegas. Definitely, one for the CWT Cookbook!
Final product, Alan Polk's 1870 Tomato Soup. Got a little carried away with the cayenne. Thought I'd put in a dollop of cream at the end, but it still had a bit of a kick to it. Thanks again to @alan polk for sharing this delicious recipe.
Thanks. I hope you try it. As soon as cooler weather arrives down here, we are going to make it again. This time, I'm gonna add a few potatoes and carrots in it to see how it does as a stew ... we'll see..
It has been a while since I tried this recipe, but my wife and I decided to cook it up again tonight. I forgot how easy it is and how wonderful it tastes!!
I think my great, great, great grandma would be proud!
Anyhow, this time we shredded some Parmesan cheese over it and toasted some wheat bread to dip it in. Thought I'd share a couple pics of how it turned out. Unfortunately, it's about 70 degrees down here but it still makes for a great winter dish, despite the temperature!
