War in the West

For a different look at the war, I'd suggest Our Man in Charleston by Christopher Dickey. It's about the British Consul in Charleston and the 10 or so years he spent there. I do wish to warn those who believe that states rights was the major cause of the war or go for the lost cause idea that they would have their eyes opened by reading this work. Kinda hard to argue against the evidence presented in this work.
