Very Interesting Article About Grant and Lee

I just finished reading a very interesting article by Mackubin Thomas Owens, a professor at the U.S. Naval War College about Grant and Lee, and how their reputations have fared at the hands of various historians through the years. It is a good read, and I highly recommend it:

I just finished this excellent article and was about to post it on CWT but thought I would check the Search function first to see if it was already posted. It was! It is a very concise and coherent summary of the relative strengths of Grant and Lee.

Great article, The only thing I take issue with is his closing statement when he states that the key to the Unions success was in the West, while the Souths key to victory was Virginia.
If your enemies key to victory is identifiable (The West) then your only hope for victory is to stop them from attaining that "key".
It would be better to say the South had two keys to victory, stopping the Union from winning in the West, and defeat them in Virginia.
