Unknown Starburst Type Button

Is this button anything military, or just a civilian decorative button? It has some similarities to a North Carolina starburst but obviously is missing the "NC". I couldn't find anything similar online. Any help would be appreciated

Cool button, out of curiosity I did a quick search. Rich Gold buttons were civilian buttons imported from England into the US in the early 1800s.

It reminds me of the Cherokee Nation button.

I did find the Cherokee button online as I was looking, but as you state it's not exactly the same as mine. I also wonder about the documentation.
