Stabler cut off question

I have a Bunside made Spencer carbine which was missing the Stabler cut off. I bought one that does not fit. Are all cut offs Burnside and Spencer interchangeable? Thanks,

The Burnside made Spencers were model 1865 and were designed for the Stabler cutoff. In early 1865 10,000 of the model 1860's were modified with the cutoff and will not fit without some adjustments. Would love to see you photos.
