This sounds like a tasty way to prepare Venison. It is from "Old Time Recipes To Enjoy", "The Kentucky Explorer Magazine"
a piece of venison with salt, pepper, vinegar, cloves, and allspice, one cup melted butter, two sliced onions, sprig of thyme, three sprigs of parsley, juice of one lemon, and one half pint of hot water.
