Spencer Carbine......what do you think?

I have an opportunity what I think is a nice Spencer Carbine from a guy locally. The metal finish is almost all gone and is very bright. But there is really not much wear to the metal parts of the carbine.
Please see the pictures that I have attached and let me know your opinion on the condition and what would be a good price to pay for this piece of history. Please let me know if you have any questions.

The bore could use a clean patch or two ran through it, but it is shinning with no pitting.

Nice, low serial #, no crack(s) on the butt stock along where the magazine tube is inserted (problem with Spencers), and has cartouches. That would easily fetch $2500-3500 or maybe higher on a good day.
