Recent Find Small additions to the collection

Came across some of these and decided to pick them up. Any thoughts? I am quite skeptical about the spur as it is quite small and nominal rust on the rowell. The stirrup appears to be a breakaway style.

On the spur its a repop. The round ball bullet mold is civilian and you have to remember that everyone had a musket and a bullet mold for it. On the stirrup its hard to say as once again everyone had a horse which means saddle.

I did figure on the spur it was priced as such but advertised as original, but the mold and stirrup I figured to be civilian, I didn't think even officers would pay for such stirrups. Was it common in the early war for people to bring their mold with the musket they brought when they volunteered? Or did they expect to have ammo issued to them till the arms could be replaced by whatever the government would supply them?

Yes it was as they were hunting rifles. I didn't mean that the mold was even that. Its just a musket mold.

True but was curious. The gent who I fought these from said his father dug them up at one of the mid Tennessee battle fields

I guess the question is...Is it military issue? The answer is no.
Does it date to the period of the civil war? Sure could or at least close to it.
Regardless, you certainly have some interesting period relics that reflect the time period you are interested in. That's the main thing. Great relics!

Love the bullet mold!! That fact it was lost during or before the civil war era and given another life is awesome!!
