And, is it really a rifle, which would have either a 30 or 36 inch long barrel. Very few of these were made in comparison to the carbine, which totes a 22 incher.

I suspect these are the pictures he's speaking of. An absolutely beautiful M1859 Sharps with bayonet lug. A rifle any collector would be ecstatic to own.

interesting. It is a Berdan rifle (correct range, DST, and OWA on barrel). The barrel band that has the lug is not correct for this model. Not only for a Berdan Sharps, but also any M1859 Sharps that would of had a bayonet lug, it would be on the barrel.
