Hey I'm new to this site and I hope I'm posting this in the right area…. I applied for membership into the SCV about 1.5 years back. Because I knew all my heritage it went through pretty fast. I live in SC but decided to join the SCV Ga. HQ Camp 2200 because my ancestor served in the 5th Regiment, Alpha Company, Ga Reserve Volunteers. I've noticed that in Ga. it is not a requirement to be a member of SCV to get the license plate…. SC DMV requires membership proof for tags. Maybe a good point but maybe not.? Money collected goes to the SCV and there are plenty of proud southerners who don't know their heritage but support the cause. Since I received my SCV Specialty Tag I have had dozens of people asking how they could get one. This is money lost for the SCV. Maybe… Come up with a "Supporter of SCV" tag or just issue the current tag. Regardless; all states are constantly trying to legislate these tags out of existence. Time to circle the wagons.
