SO there is a buckle and a plate. Are they real or fake? Buckle was supposedly found in a stream. plate was a dig. both back in the 1960's. Don't have any better pictures just fronts and backs.

They are awfully clean for "finds"..looks like someone used white out to label them. I know from field school, we used white out as a label base, then used a black india ink pen to write out info on.
I'm sure someone will come along soon to help you out.

UPDATE.... i purchased the Buckle! They claim to have found it "Near the miller cornfield back in 1961" have cleaned it and had it on display. but it was in a small stream/creek. ..... SO What say ye? good purchase? When it comes i will update with a bunch of pics.
What should i have paid and what i did pay..... probably 2 different things! from looking online it seems the prices i see vary from $250-$350. I gave $310...... For a 155 year old piece of metal..... Granted Antietam is a bad *** place to get it from! What should I have paid?
