At Cowan's auction house in Cincinnati on Wed. you too can be an owner of a Rain's mine (torpedo). Just saw it. Cited at 45" in length and 40" at its widest. Turned brass fuses.
1st image is the whole Rain's rig.
2nd and third image looking lengthwise across the top
4th image is bottom fuse- which still can be screwed out!
5th image is another whole rig view from a different angle
6th image is the fuse which a very nice gentleman from Cowans came over to show me.
Last image is for some perspective
Opening bid is a little over $20,000.

I was just reading about Rains last week. Never heard of him before and now I've come across him twice in 5 days.

$27000 total. The last 2 times they tried to sell it it had a reserve on it so I guess the owner said "Let It Go"
